Michael Hein, PH.D.

Dr. Hein has been a psychology professor at Middle Tennessee State University since 1990 and served as Director of the Industrial/Organizational Master’s program and currently serves as the Director for the Center for Organizational and Human Resource Effectiveness (MTSU).  Dr. Hein’s specialties include skill acquisition, maximization of learning, and leadership. He has served on and chaired non-profit boards over the past 15 years, as well as fulfilled leadership and coaching positions with Murfreesboro Soccer Club.  He, his wife (Dr. Judy Van Hein), and their two boys (Eric 11th) attend Hope Lutheran.

Louise Barrett, D.V.M.

Louise Stewart Barrett, mother of George Barrett (Redeemer Classical Academy Class of 2016), serves as the secretary of the Board of Directors of Redeemer Classical Academy.  A veterinarian and jewelry maker, Dr. Barrett grew up in a large Catholic family in North Carolina.  She and her husband Keith met in graduate school at North Carolina State University, married, and moved to Evanston, Illinois in 1992, where Keith worked as a post-doc and then a research associate at Northwestern University and Louise worked as a small animal veterinarian. Their son George was born in 1997, prompting them to return to Keith’s hometown of Murfreesboro in 2001 so that George could grow up closer to family. The Barretts attend First Baptist Church Murfreesboro, TN.

Ben Weatherford

Ben Weatherford has been married to Margie Cagle Weatherford for 30 years. They have two children, Ben and Mary Margaret. Their children attended public school systems until eighth and seventh grades, respectively, at which time they transferred to Cedar Hall School, upon moving back to Murfreesboro. Each transferred to Middle Tennessee Christian School their junior year of high school. Ben and Margie attend North Boulevard Church of Christ. Ben is a native of Murfreesboro, TN and his wife Margie is originally from Knoxville, TN. Ben Weatherford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from Mississippi State University. His career in banking includes positions as a Senior V.P. at Suntrust Bank,  President of Rutherford Bank and Trust, President and COO of Midsouth Bank, City President of Southern Community Bank, and currently the City President of FirstBank in Murfreesboro. Ben Weatherford has been active in the community holding board positions with the Murfreesboro City Schools Foundation, Linebaugh Library Foundation, MTSU Foundation Board of Trustees, Columbia Crockett Hospital, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, and Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Danny Kellum

A professional educator with over forty years of experience in education administration, Dr. Danny Kellum has served as headmaster of several private and Christian schools across the South.  He led Donelson Christian Academy for twenty of those years and continues to serve as Headmaster Emeritus for DCA. During Redeemer’s first year of operation, Dr. Kellum joined the Redeemer community as a consultant, providing invaluable wisdom and support. We are grateful that he continues to share both his practical expertise and his passion for Christian education with our school as a member of the board of directors.  In addition to continuing to honor the Lord by supporting Christian education, Dr. Kellum enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren and turkey hunting.

Phil King

Phil has over 30 years’ experience working with large corporations in Finance, Information Technology and Operations. This includes roughly 10 years in financial management at FedEx, serving as a divisional CFO and CIO at Bellsouth, over 15 years consulting with large enterprises across the US on business and technology strategy, and a few years in new venture opportunities. Now a part-time consultant to allow more time with not-for profits and community activity, Phil is also on the board of The GEAR Foundation in Franklin, TN. After growing up in Murfreesboro and leaving in 1983, Phil, his wife Kathy (from Lawrenceburg and met at MTSU), and son David returned to Murfreesboro in 1999 and are currently members at Belle-Aire Baptist Church.  Phil graduated from MTSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance and from the University of Tennessee with a MBA concentration in Finance/Investments.
