Like any new beginning, there may be unfamiliar territory but as a parent it should not steer you from your path of choosing a private school. In the private school world, there are many myths and certainties. At Redeemer Classical Academy, we’ve diagnosed a few notions and how they relate to the Murfreesboro private school as a whole.
Private schools can be affordable
While private schools do have a cost to attend, many can be expensive. But on the other hand, many are affordable and offer different cost packages.

Many private schools are religious schools
Most private schools have a religious affiliation. Across the globe, Christian, Seventh Day Adventist, Quaker, Jewish and numerous other religions are represented.
As a Christian school, Redeemer Classical Academy’s mission is to mentor young people toward virtue as learners, leaders, and agents of redemption for God’s glory. Classical Christian schools teach all subjects based on the principle that God is the Creator of all that exists, and therefore all knowledge is interrelated and points back to Him.

Private schools offer age-specific learning
In some cases, private schools simply offer grades pre-school through through third grade while others may offer pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Redeemer Classical Academy offers age-specific learning from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Classical Christian schools use the children’s God-given strengths at each stage of growth to help them learn; young children enjoy memorizing, singing, and rhymes, so a solid foundation is laid in each subject of study at this age; junior-high students are inquisitive, so we develop their ability to reason and discern truth; and high-school students want to talk, so we teach them how to present their ideas persuasively. The result in a graduate that knows what they believe and why and can positively impact the community around them.
Private schools decide what to teach
Private schools can exceed state-mandated minimum requirements exist in the core subjects and are able to teach those subjects and many other ones in a manner they choose.
Classical Christian schools develop skills to equip students to be lifetime learners by teaching students that every subject is comprised of certain defining facts with an orderly organization of the information, and a concise and persuasive way in which to present the acquired material. This method of instruction has been in use for hundreds of years, and is the means which produced most of history’s great thinkers; it is the new “old-way” of educating students with a long history of success. Graduates are familiar with reading, writing, Latin, logic, math, science, rhetoric, and the fine arts resulting in gracious, knowledgeable, and thoughtful men and women.
Private school teachers have degrees and a focus their subject areas
